3. Log out of the system when leaving your workstation unattended.
4. Never copy, print, email, or transmit patient information to unauthorized parties.
5. Report any suspected breach or unauthorized access immediately to the Privacy Officer.
6. Patient records accessed through this system are confidential and protected by federal law.
Violations:
Violations of HIPAA may result in civil penalties up to $50,000 per violation, criminal penalties up to $250,000 and 10 years imprisonment, and immediate termination of employment.
